25–31 October 2026 | Katavi, Tanzania
Visa Travel and Tours is pleased to share its participation in the Katavi Business and Investment Conference 2026, held in Tanzania following an invitation from the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Burundi.
Our delegation departed from Bujumbura on Sunday, 25 October 2026, and returned on Saturday, 31 October 2026. This visit provided a valuable opportunity to learn, exchange experiences, explore tourism potential and strengthen professional relationships within the East African tourism industry.
A Valuable Learning and Professional Exchange Experience
For Visa Travel and Tours, this participation went beyond attending a conference. It was an important learning experience, reflecting our belief that tourism professionals must continuously develop their knowledge, explore new destinations and understand how tourism resources are managed and promoted.
During the programme, the delegation participated in several activities, including a visit to Karema Port, professional meetings with regional administrative authorities and tourism representatives, and discussions about the tourism potential of the Katavi region.
These exchanges offered valuable insights into Tanzania’s tourism sector, particularly the management and conservation of wildlife resources, the monitoring and care of animal species, and the organisation of tourism activities within protected areas.
The experience helped us gain a broader understanding of the importance of sustainable tourism management, institutional cooperation and the development of destination-based tourism products.

Strengthening Burundi–Tanzania Tourism Connections
Visa Travel and Tours believes that regional cooperation is essential to creating new opportunities for tourism development.
The knowledge and professional connections gained during this visit will contribute to our efforts to strengthen tourism links between Burundi and Tanzania, while supporting the development of cross-border travel experiences across East Africa.
As part of this commitment, we intend to integrate the Katavi destination and its tourism opportunities into our regional travel offerings, creating new possibilities for our clients to discover Tanzania’s natural heritage and combine different destinations through cross-border itineraries.
We believe that these initiatives can contribute not only to the growth of our business but also to the promotion of Burundi as a tourism destination and the wider development of the regional tourism industry.

Appreciation and Acknowledgements
Visa Travel and Tours extends its sincere appreciation to the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Burundi for the invitation and its continued contribution to strengthening tourism cooperation and opening new opportunities for Burundi’s tourism sector.
We also express our gratitude to the administrative authorities of the Katavi region, tourism representatives and all the local teams who welcomed our delegation and shared their knowledge and experience with us.
Their hospitality and willingness to exchange information made this visit a meaningful professional experience.

Looking Ahead: Learning, Connecting and Creating New Tourism Opportunities
At Visa Travel and Tours, we believe that every professional journey is an opportunity to learn, build partnerships and create better experiences for our clients.
Our participation in Katavi reinforces our commitment to developing regional tourism circuits, promoting cross-border cooperation and connecting Burundi with the wider East African tourism market.
We look forward to transforming the knowledge and relationships gained into practical tourism opportunities for our clients and partners.
